Distribution map of Phyllonorycter leucographella (Zeller, 1850) in Luxembourg. Recorder-LUX & iNaturalist, 2019.08.26.

In Luxembourg the firethorn leaf miner is common on firethorn in villages. Miners have also been found by Nico Schneider on Sorbus torminalis in the natural reserve Haardt near Dudelange (Schneider 2006).

The larvae mainly feed on Pyracantha coccinea, the European species of firethorn, but have also been recorded on Crataegus species. No occurrence of the species in Luxembourg is documented in the Recorder database so far.
